HPD, DHyp, CHyp, CNLP, BA Hons (in Art - Super useful)

What you need to know briefly…

Tracey has been in practice seeing clients since 2009… 16 years or so. She has seen well over 10,000 client hours in practice.

As well as your healthy mind workout, you will be recieving bespoke insights that come with seeing a seasoned and experienced practitioner.

A full time hypnotherapist trained in counselling, hypnosis, hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) Tracey has been in practice for over 15 years. Originally with locations throughout London including Harley Street she has now settled in practice, south of the river, in Balham. (2 minutes form the tube or a 20 minute cycle ride from town…downhill)

The boring bit; Qualifications and experience.

Tracey an independent practitioner and consultant Hypnotherapist was formerly Ethics Director and sat on the Board as a Director of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). After a short time of service as Ethics Director she was chosen to be the Chairman of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and continued to be in role from 2016 to 2024; She feels passionate about community and collaboration so being on the Board and within a community of likeminded Hypnotherapists while setting and upholding standards in the Hypnotherapy profession was not only a natural progression but bloody wonderful to both be chosen and to continue to do. In addition to the Board work and her private practice she trained and assessed students of hypnotherapy to the Diploma level 4 standard of the National Council of Further Education (NCFE).

The story to around now;

Tracey originally trained in life coaching (back in the day when Google was an infant) and very quickly realised that coaching was great, but what if you had insurmountable resistance because you didn’t believe in yourself and/or unresolved trauma was stopping you? What then? It seemed that you could potentially ‘double down’ on not being good enough because you might not be actually able to meet your coaching goals and instead of creating a positive model, people coaching could potentially do more harm- I suspect the face of coaching has changed since those days! So with this insight Tracey began her counselling journey through the levels and during level 4, psychodynamic training she found a new …Frustration? And found herself wanting ‘tools’ for change and while counselling was a fabulous way of healing, she found she was looking for the tools - you know, where you can roll up your sleeves and get working and on that quest she discovered Hypnotherapy and NLP -Neuro Linguistic Programming - a fancy name for using words in a fancy way.

Ultimately, this is where Tracey hung her hat as the wonders of hypnotherapy and hypnosis and what people can achieve, even now, 15 years on continue to amaze and enthral. There are other studies which Tracey incorporates into her work - Integrated Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT)- a Branch of NLP work, where she has specialised in weight loss, alleviating trauma with creativity (certificate in Person Centred Art Therapy Skills), which she can use with clients to analyse alternative ways of reaching their subconscious self to name a couple.

Tracey is also a trained solution focussed Supervisor; to support practitioners to be the best they can be- something she is very passionate about within her profession. Hypnotherapists like other talking therapy practitioners can gain incredible insights into themselves via reflective practice to enhance the ways they practice, this will, of course, enhance and increase the therapy potential for the client.

It is always important to make sure when you are looking for a Hypnotherapist that you find someone who:

  • Trained to NOS standards for training- basic training is good enough.

  • Feels ‘right’ for you, if at any point your spidey senses think, this is not for me, listen to them, chances are, that person isn’t for you - and remember- you can say no and find someone else to work with- Choosing the best therapist for you is as important as choosing a partner.

    You can say no, and you can walk away at any time.

Passions

Throughout her life Tracey’s passion has been with communication and the ways in which we communicate; both verbally and non-verbally, the differing ways in which we can so easily be affected by our environment and the people around us. Tracey considers that it is all too easy to think, “Is it me?” when actually when you look at the life evidence around you …very much of it isn’t. However, just thinking that it may be you when everything around you is rubbish, is enough to say, “Sort it out, this isn’t me! So.... What can I do about it?”

Of course (despite her studies and researches) her greatest learning came with her two sons (now adult men) -a learning that changes daily with regular new and interesting challenges, that only loved ones can present!

Finally, Tracey's personal goal was always to learn to ride a motorbike- something she had wanted to do from her teens, but never had the chance, but now her boys are older and more self-sufficient, she finally had the chance to tick that goal off in 2014 (20+ years later) You can be never too late with a goal and if she can learn to ride a motorbike at 43, anything is possible!

Never give up on your dreams!
